Koi
The KOI project explores themes of repetition, distortion, and flow using a motif inspired by koi fish images. KOI began as a traditional illustration before developing into a motion-based visual project. Through a process of layering, warping, and repeating the motif, the project creates a mesmerizing world of movement and color that pulls the viewer into its rhythms.
This exploration of the potential that comes from taking one idea and translating it visually into a complex system. Koi shapes serve as metaphors for fluidity, change, and evolution within the creative process. The goal was to create the impression of motion—chaotic but purposeful.
Animation enhances this effect even more. Through looping movement, distortion, and shifting depths, KOI is transformed into an animated pattern—a flow of visual energy, much like the flow of creativity when limitations are stripped away.
